About Thrive - Our Why

Trauma-Informed Counseling in Farmington Hills

Available in-person and virtually across Michigan.

Thrive Beyond Trauma Counseling is a trauma-specialty practice serving individuals, couples, and families across Michigan.

Thrive was built on a simple truth:

Healing does not happen through willpower alone.

*It happens when science meets compassion, and when people feel seen for more than their pain.*

We exist for those who have survived so much, yet still struggle to feel safe, connected, or fully themselves.
For those who have tried to “move on,” but still feel stuck in old wounds, patterns, or nervous-system responses.

Our mission is to help people rebuild safety, trust, and connection

From the inside out.

Healing is not about pushing yourself forward; it’s about understanding what your nervous system created to survive and gently helping it discover a new way to live.

*You don’t need more willpower — You need understanding, attunement, and safety.*

Our Philosophy & Integrative Approach

*Healing is both science and soul.*

Every symptom, pattern, or survival strategy carries a story

A message from the body asking for understanding.

We don’t rush that process, and we don’t reduce you to a diagnosis.

*Your symptoms are not defects — They are survival strategies.*

At Thrive Beyond Trauma Counseling, healing happens when:
  • Evidence-based therapy
  • Body-based nervous system work
  • Human warmth and attunement come together.

*Healing = science + nervous system + human connection.*

We blend clinical precision with mind–body depth so your healing is not just cognitive, but embodied.

Our therapists are trained in:
  • EMDR Therapy
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Somatic & Nervous System Regulation
  • Breathwork
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Early Recovery Couples Model (ERCEM)
  • The Gottman Method
  • Trauma-focused and attachment-based modalities
This integrative approach helps clients:
  • Reprocess trauma
  • Resolve shame
  • Break behavioral patterns
  • Rebuild trust after betrayal
  • Strengthen relationships
  • Feel safe inside themselves again

Your healing is guided by compassion, neuroscience, and the belief that you already hold the capacity for change within you.

How We Work

At Thrive, we focus on deep repair

Not surface change.

*Healing is not rushed, minimized, or forced — You set the pace, and we honor it.*

We meet you exactly where you are, whether you feel overwhelmed, detached, anxious, activated, or shut down.
Your nervous system is respected. Your story is held with care. Your experience is taken seriously.

*You lead the pace — We attune, support, and respond.*

Our therapists specialize in trauma recovery, behavioral addictions, betrayal trauma, and relationship healing.
Each clinician is trained in modalities that address both the mind and the body — because recovery is not just about insight; it’s about integration.

We guide you toward sustainable, embodied change by creating a therapeutic space where you are:

  • Not rushed
  • Not judged
  • Not minimized
  • Fully seen and supported

*This is a place where healing becomes possible — Gently, safely, and at your pace.*
