Owner/Director of Thrive Beyond Trauma Counseling
Akanksha Madan’s goal in counseling is to help provide clients with balance & new perspective toward a healthy & functional life. She combines therapeutic methods & techniques to tailor the process of people’s needs. In addition to exploring client problems through talk therapy, she uses research-based assessments & interventions (Including trauma-focused therapy & EMDR.) to get to the heart of people’s issues.
Couple’s reconciliation therapy and healing relational trauma from infidelity is by far her passion. Affair recovery, betrayal trauma, and sexual addiction therapy are areas of her specialty. She also helps couples move through constant criticism, arguments, hurt feelings, and feeling stuck along with other marriage concerns to discover each other again. She incorporates the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model from the Association of Partners of Sex Addiction Trauma Specialists (APSATS) into her work with hurting partners. In addition, she brings a trauma-informed mindset and promotes a non-shaming growth orientation. She is a trained Clinical Sex Addict Therapist (CSAT) and a Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS).
She works together with the couples to address & minimize symptoms & guide them through the process of healing, recovery & happiness (She is Gottman Trained – It is a worldwide leader in marital assessment. This model is known for its excellence in providing couples with the help they need in identifying & improving marital relationships).
Finally, Akanksha’s focus is to offer help to individuals whose lives have been damaged by sexual addiction, trauma, and mental health struggles that tend to have a crippling effect on people, like depression and anxiety, so that they can rebuild connections with their higher power and have meaningful interaction within themselves and promote a foundation of acceptance, trust, and commitment, and create healthy relationships.
