Support for Truth, Stabilization, and Integration

Trauma-Informed Couple Therapy in Farmington Hills

Available in-person and virtually across Michigan.

After betrayal or chronic deception, reassurance often stops calming the body.

Even honest words can feel unstable when:

  • Stories have changed
  • Information has been hidden
  • Trust has been repeatedly broken

This is not mistrust

It is a nervous system that can’t rely on words alone yet.

Polygraph support exists to stabilize truth, not to punish.

*Safety returns when uncertainty ends.*

At Thrive, polygraph work is fully integrated into the therapeutic process:

  • Preparation and aftercare are handled by your Thrive therapist
  • We coordinate with trusted, qualified polygraph examiners
  • Question development is collaborative and transparent
  • You are never sent to a polygraph without emotional containment before and after

This integration protects both partners from harm.

*Polygraph is integrated — Not outsourced emotionally.*

  • Emotional & nervous-system preparation
  • Collaborative question development
  • Polygraph administration
  • Immediate aftercare and stabilization
  • Integration into ongoing couples work

*Preparation and aftercare matter as much as the test.*

Polygraph Preparation & Aftercare is a structured, trauma-informed process

It’s used in betrayal recovery when clinically appropriate.

It is designed to:

  • Reduce hypervigilance
  • Bring an end to ongoing doubt
  • Support accountability
  • Stabilize the betrayed partner

Polygraph is never used as punishment or control.

*Polygraph supports safety — Not shame.*

For couples traveling from outside Michigan or seeking concentrated care, Thrive can coordinate short-term intensives.

This may include:

  • Pre-disclosure preparation
  • Structured therapeutic disclosure
  • Polygraph coordination
  • Post-Disclosure Stabilization and Aftercare

Intensives are planned carefully and ethically

Intensive doesn’t mean rushed.

*Intensive support still protects pacing.*

*It is never a standalone service.*

What is a polygraph?

A truth-verification tool measuring physiological responses during questioning.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Results are shared only with approved individuals.

Is polygraph mandatory?

No. It is used only when clinically appropriate.

Who should not take a polygraph?

Those who are intoxicated, unable to consent, or medically unable to tolerate sensors.

Can someone “beat” a polygraph?

Attempts are often detectable and reduce credibility.

Will nervousness affect results?

No. Polygraphs measure changes, not baseline anxiety.

Will we see the questions beforehand?

Yes. All questions are reviewed and agreed upon in advance.

Does polygraph guarantee healing?

No. It provides clarity — Healing depends on integration.

*Understanding reduces fear. Clarity reduces harm.*

You are not broken.
